Rainforest Edge is a small and rustic eco-hotel tucked into the hills, just outside Sinharaja Forest Reserve. It benefits from having one of the most beautiful and natural panoramas in the region; feeling completely isolated in an area protected by UNESCO. There are seven rustic but attractive looking suites, including one family room. All rooms have comfortable beds and en-suite shower rooms. These are half open air so are not designed for the faint hearted.
The property follows strict environmental policies; this includes serving organic food and recycling waste and water. There’s also a natural water pool and staff can also organise kayaking and mountain biking in the area as well. Rainforest Edge is arguably overpriced considering how simple it is, however it does offer a unique experience and we feel it’s the best base when exploring this remarkable location.
