Day 1
Overnight flight to Sri Lanka.
Day 2
This morning / afternoon you will arrive into Colombo, where you will be met by your private chauffeur guide and vehicle. You will be taken directly north to Wadumunnegedara, a rural area home to Horathapola Estate. This journey should take less than 2 hrs. Here you can relax in the beautiful grounds, by the pool, enjoy a bullock cart ride and even make use of the free bicycles.
Day 3
From Horathapola you will head up to The Mudhouse, a 2hr drive north from Horathapola. This is a fun and friendly secluded retreat, and the ideal place to enjoy cycling, kayaking, cooking lessons, village walks and nature trails.
Day 4
Enjoy today exploring the area.
Day 5
Your driver will take you approximately 4hrs in-land today, to Pallepolla and the home of Jim's Farm. This afternoon you will visit Pinnewala Elephant Orphanage and The Millennium Elephant Foundation.
Day 6
Today you will climb Sigiriya Rock and you will visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa.
Day 7
Your chauffeur driver will bring you 2hrs south to Kandy today. Here you'll have some time to relax before enjoying traditional Kandyan dancing this evening, as well as the Temple of The Tooth.
Day 8
Today you will visit Dambana Tribal Village, home to the indigenous Vedda people who were Sri Lanka's original hunter-gatherers.
Day 9
You will head south from Kandy today, venturing into the lowlands and down to Uda Walawe National Park. This beautiful journey takes in the region of 5-5.5 hrs.
Day 10
Enjoy searching for wild elephants in our morning jeep safari. Afterwards you will travel 4hrs south to Galle on the south coast, a 17th century fortified town. Enjoy a short Galle City Tour. You can stay either in Galle Fort or on one of the idyllic beaches nearby.
Day 11
If you are visiting between December and April you may want to enjoy our Whale Watching Boat Trip, as this area attracts both blue and sperm whales.
Day 12
Enjoy today completely at leisure. You might like to enjoy a cycling tour through the nearby countryside today.
Day 13
Enjoy today completely at leisure. You might like to visit the stilt fishermen that frequent this line of coast.
Day 14
Today you will be driven north to Colombo for your flight home after an incredible family holiday.
